By the Extraordinary Gazette No.2403/53 dated 27.09.2024 the Departments of Wildlife Conservation, Forest Conservation and National Zoological Gardens as well as the State Timber Corporation which were the under then Ministry of Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation, were Included under the Ministry of Environment, Wildlife, Forest Resources, Water Supply, Plantation and Community Infrastructure.
Then by the Extraordinary Gazette No.2412/08 dated 25.11.2024, the Department of Wildlife Conservation, Forest Conservation, National Zoological Gardens and the State Timber Corporation were included under the Division of Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation of Ministry of Environment.

Administration Division
Providing necessary support to achieve the objectives of the Ministry through the management of human resources, physical resources, maintaining the administration and discipline of the wildlife & Forest Resources Conservation Division. In addition to that, carrying out of the administrative functional of works of the Departments that comes under the wildlife & Forest Resources Conservation Division.
