World Food Programme Representative Mr. Abdur Rahim Siddiqui, Deputy Country Director Mr. Gerard Rebello and his team had a Courtesy meeting Mr. B.K. Prabhath Chandrakeerthi, Secretary, Ministry of Environment on 11.01.2024 at “Sobadam piyasa”.

 The Secretary Ministry of Environment elaborated the importance of partnership between World Food Programme (WFP) and Ministry of Environment for combating impact of climate change in terms of social security, food security and productivity of agriculture sector. World Food Programme explained the current project engagements with the Ministry of Environment. WFP mentioned that they would support the Ministry in mobilizing climate finance, technical assistance, access to loss and damage fund etc. Further, it was discussed regarding strengthening the partnership between WFP and the Ministry.
